Kenya is renowned for its unparalleled wildlife, habitat diversity and fascinating cultural heritage. A wide range of ecological zones, semi-arid plains and vast savannahs, tropical montane forests, rugged wilderness, acacia woodlands, and rugged wilderness, provide for a tremendous array of fauna and flora. Under a limitless sapphire sky thrives an animal population, staggering in both diversity and number. Here, elephant, zebra, leopard, lion, rhinoceros, giraffe, cheetah and baboon have lived and adapted for eons in this ancient landscape, alongside more than a thousand colorful bird species and a multitude of butterflies and other insects. Our safari combines superlative wildlife viewing with comfort and attentive service, while staying in some of Kenya’s finest safari lodges and tented camps, as we explore in depth, this magical land known as the “Gem of Africa.”
On safari in Kenya, you can expect excellent accommodations – Hotel/lodge and deluxe, safari style camping; great food with many choices; some picnic lunches; light walking; a few long drives up to six hours at times which can be on some uneven, bumpy roads, however, will always include wildlife viewing when moving from one park to the next; some dust; morning and afternoon game drives each day; and cool mornings and evenings with warm days. One must be able to climb (step on and down) in and out of a safari 4×4 vehicle and in and out of a small aircraft. One should be in good physical condition, remain flexible, be of good humor, and have a spirit of adventure and curiosity to enjoy this safari to its fullest.
